By this time, fans of the book should've already accepted that the TV series is a different ball game. Creators David Benioff and DB Weiss have done such a great job so far with the adaptation that sooner or later, the time must come when the movie parts ways with the manuscript. Book fans might be especially displeased with the changes in the names, but wasn't it Shakespeare who said, "that which we call a rose / by any other name would smell as sweet"1? Some fans would disagree though, especially the ones who've already conditioned themselves to believe that in this series, Oona Chaplin stars as Jeyne Westerling and not as Talisa Maegyr.

If you force it, "Talisa Maegyr" is an anagram of "Jeyne Westerling".
"Check. Check."

I remember my first encounter with the Beastie Boys. It was back in freshman high school, while reading an issue of Rolling Stone magazine. What I was really reading was an article about graffiti, featuring the graffiti artist JA. Then I came across an article with a picture of the Beastie Boys, with one of them sporting a cool goatee, wearing a cool windbreaker and a really cool fisherman (or bucket) hat. I thought to myself, "This guy looks really cool." So I checked the photo caption, and it said that the goateed guy with the cool hat was named Adam Yauch. After that, I decided to check out their music. Remember, this was the time before the Internet was mainstream, so it took some time between that Rolling Stone encounter and the time I heard my first Beastie Boy song.

Yes, that's right. I liked the Beastie Boys because of a cool hat. How shallow.

RIP MCA. You were the first Beastie Boy I knew by name.

Can't kill Klaus, oh just stop his heart.

I wonder why they never thought of this ritual since Abby told Bonnie about the spell. Anyway, the big bad villain of Season 2 is finally put down, without worry if our resident vampires are from his blood line. Would Rebekah, Kol, or Elijah seek revenge for their hybrid brother? I don't think so, although it would be nice to see Elijah again. Would the gang do the same thing to put down Vampire "Alaric" Hunter? Honestly, I'm not sure this is a big step to having Klaus as a villain, but I think he would give our gang enough trouble by exposing every vampire, werewolf, or hybrid and any one connected to one.

Team Salvatore needs to get over "Who's Elena going to choose?" for now.

Ditching Team Cassie-Jake for Team Faye-Jake.

Apparently, Faye and Jake were supposed to go to the prom two years ago, but Faye waited for three hours and Jake never showed up. Prom this year brought some closure to that. There's closure, too, for Melissa accepting that the Nick they knew is dead and killed this sort-of-demon impostor. Another one is Diana finding out that her dad is not exactly a good guy─he killed Emilia, Cassie's mom. And one last, which  is also a build-up for the finale, is Cassie and Diana knowing the truth about Blackwell through their witchy-timey-wimey. Jake's granddad's "what John Blackwell really wanted from the circle" was spot on. And he already has the final crystal.

Let's see how our black magic sisters handle their own blood.

What they do for fun in their new place.

Backsliding—meaning hooking up with an ex, or even just calling one to chat. Finally, a big, bold move: Nick is moving to a new place with Caroline. It's a bad idea if you ask me, but it's a good angle for the show, and right before the season finale at that. Schmidt and Cece are getting serious. Poor Winston still has the most boring storyline: he got his ears pierced and was the butt of all earring jokes.

No more Damon-Alaric bromance? BOOO!

"Elena goes to the dance with Stefan and Damon crashes the dance" sounds familiar. Anyway, supernaturals get trapped in the school, as Bonnie tries to undo spells and our humans negotiate everyone's fate. Ester's clever idea of killing her children and all the other vampires for that matter was to make another vampire─a vampire who hunts vampires (kind of like her husband Mikael) and the ultimate white oak stake. Poor Alaric, he couldn't undo his psycho alter-ego's deeds. And like Bill Forbes, he just decides not to complete the transition. Sniff.

Only he's just not on top of all things...

I'm really loving these two together.

Witch hunters killed our very dear Jane, the perfect cover-up. In a private moment during the wake, Cassie kisses Adam spontaneously. Is the elixir is enough to make him feel nothing after physical contact? Using the crystal-finding map and spell earlier would have saved them an episode. And it's confirmed: Diana is really Balckwell's child, but she doesn't want anything to do with black magic.

But the biggest reveal of this episode is...

May the 4th is considered by fans as Star Wars Day, simply because saying "May the fourth be with you" out loud sounds like saying "May the Force be with you" with a lisp. So the geek in me decided to do a special Star Wars post.

A lot of geeks hail George Lucas as a genius, exclaiming, "The great bearded one is so great at imagining the future!" Indeed, those same geeks believe that George Lucas enters into an altered state, where he communes with the gods of creativity in helping him visualize his futuristic universe.

Sorry to disappoint you, geeks. The inspiration for some of the Star Wars ships aren't really from the realm of ideas. Most of them were taken from ordinary, everyday objects. Here now is a list of eight Star Wars spacecraft, and the real world objects that inspired them1. They are numbered for sequential purposes only, and are not ranked according to any criterion.

We've all accepted the fact that the Internet is too big to be monitored. It's actually a proper universe in itself, since like our real universe, cyberspace is expanding, and there seems to be no stopping it. There is more knowledge on the internet today than there was five years ago. Just like our real universe.

"Beep. Boop. Beep."

Being the huge universe that it is, I guess it's safe to say that it's quite impossible to police it. Imagine the Star Wars universe─even the Empire barely had any control over the planets in the Outer Rim. And such is the case with the Internet.

This article is about memes. It seems that nowadays, anyone with even the most rudimentary knowledge of Photoshop can create their own meme. And there are millions of memes on the world wide web, and a large majority of them are─to be honest─trash. Ideally, it would be great to have something like an International Convention for Internet Memes, which would create an international body that would monitor memes─making sure the good memes survive and the terrible memes die a natural death.

Wait, what's that you say? Deciding whether a meme is good or bad is a subjective thing? Well, yes, if you frame your aesthetic argument that way. But there are examples of really terrible memes. Like this one:

Even Getty Images isn't happy.

Notice that the maker of this meme didn't even bother to spend just a little bit more time on Google to find the same photo without the watermark. Sloppy!

Here's another one:

The root word is "invisable".

This is one of those color wheel macros, featuring a very young Sorcerer's Stone-Harry Potter. Sloppy as well! Maybe Adobe should start thinking about including spell-check in Photoshop.

Now if there were such a thing as an Internet Meme Police, then they would make sure that within 24 hours of reporting the incident, clicking on these memes will give you an Error 404. Make it happen, United Nations.
