Doctor Who. Series 7, Episode 12: "Nightmare in Silver"

| BBC via DCT |
This episode has three selling points.
1. NEIL GAIMAN
This episode is the second one penned by the famous writer. I think he set the precedent for high-brow authors writing for low-brow television.
| |
| "I'm simply following in Neil's footsteps." |
2. CYBERMEN
Like heroes, even villains need a reboot. And that's what Gaiman did, creating a whole new backstory according to showrunner Steven Moffat's mandate of making the Cybermen scary again.

|
BBCSo scary even armed soldiers can't do a thing. |
3. THE KIDS
And by "kids", I mean Angie and Artie Maitland. Yes, those two kids that Clara babysits. They're technically companions now, having flown in the TARDIS. I know, right?
| |
|
BBC"I told you, kids, that's Warwick Davis. Not Peter Dinklage." |
VERDICT
Not as good as "The Doctor's Wife".
