It is a truly great thing that the Harry Potter films finished shooting a while back. That’s because Richard Griffiths’s performance as Harry’s favorite uncle Vernon Dursley was so perfect that no other actor could have possibly taken over the role and have done it justice. That is, if Richard Griffiths had passed away mid-saga. But he didn’t. He left this earth on the 28th of March 2013. And just to show us all that the mysterious force we call the Universe has a sense of humor, Griffiths shares the same birthday with Harry Potter ─ the 31st of July.
